Arlington High School Softball Summer Camp -

June 10th - 13th - AHS Softball Field

Time: 9 am - 12 pm

Sign up for this fun-filled week with the AHS softball team and their coaches for a great week of instruction.

They will work on Pitching, Hitting, Fielding and Base running. 

 

*All participants will get a free T-Shirt. 

*Camp is for 1st to 8th Graders.

*The fee for this camp is $65. Checks should be made to Arlington High School Softball Booster Club.

Arlington Softball Pitching Clinics - 10 sessions on Monday nights - Arlington Sports Complex

We will hold our pitching clinics on Monday nights this Summer. 

These clinics are separated by a beginner, intermediate and advance level and is based on skills listed in the schedule below. 

Ages start at 6 years old and up to 18. They are group clinics and we work mostly on muscle memory and proper mechanics. 

Clinics will start on June 3rd and continue through August 5th. (Approximately 10 sessions). They will be held at the Arlington Sports Complex in our new pitching mound practice area between fields 2 & 3.

The cost will be $50 per registrant.  Checks should be made out ASBL.  If we have a rain out for a Monday, we will attempt to make up the clinic for the next Thursday.  

 

Pitching Schedule

 

Beginners (arrive by 5:45 pm to warm up) 6 pm - 6:45 pm.  This level is for the girl that has never pitched and instruction is directed towards grip, release and basic mechanics of the pitch.  Players will move up to the Intermediate Level when they can have enough strength and accuracy to make it to the catcher from 35 feet and pitch in the general vicinity of the catcher.

 

Intermediate (arrive by 6:30 pm to warm up) 6:45 pm - 7:30 pm. This level is for the player that can pitch in the general vicinity of the catcher and knows the proper grip and mechanics of the pitch.  They should be able to pitch from 35 feet.  This level focuses on consistency and developing muscle memory.  We use some competition drills to motivate the girls to pitch faster and more accurate.  Players will move up to advanced when the demonstrate that they can pitch 5 strikes out of 10 pitches.

 

Advanced (arrive by 7:15 to warm up).  7:30 pm - 8:15 pm.  This level concentrates on increasing speed, more accuracy and works on different pitches as they are ready.  (Change Up, Rise Ball, etc) . They also focus on hitting corners of the strike zone.

Fielding and Hitting Clinics @ The Yard - Saturday Mornings in June

 

We will be offering hitting and fielding clinics this June (1, 8, 15, 22 & 29) at The Yard located at 6001 Airline Road, Arlington, TN. 

They will be conducted by the Arlington High School Softball Coach, Brandon Morgan along with the assistant Coach, Steve "Pops" Hannah. 

 

They will take place on Saturday mornings. 

 

We will have two different skill groups, Beginner and Intermediate. 

 

Beginners will be held from 8 am to 10 am and Intermediate will be held from 10 am to 12 pm. 

 

The cost will be $50 for all 5 sessions. Please fill out the form below if you plan on attending.

 

Hitting Clinics

 

Intermediate (8 am - 10 am) - Learn correct grip, stance, swing, coordination, muscle memory, bad habits to keep away from)

Advanced (10am - 12 pm) - Develop continued muscle memory, bunting, slap hitting, increase power and consistency.

Fielding Clinics

 

Intermediate (8am – 10 am) – Learn correct form, footwork, arm slot & grip

​

Advanced (10 am – 12 pm) – more detailed instruction on the skills as well as situational scenarios and the mental approach in each situation by position.
